About Us

An electrical partner who understands what’s at stake.

Behind every project is a business with its own pressures, priorities and plans for the future. We take the time to understand your bigger picture so that the investments you make today make practical and financial sense into the future.

Since 2018 we've worked within major industrial, commercial and community operations across the North East and Central Murray, bringing specialist technical expertise, commercial thinking and genuine long-term investment to the systems they depend on. We take full ownership from first conversation to final sign-off. And we don't consider the job done until it performs.
OUR STORY
The growth of this region depends on industries that never stop - agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, utilities - and behind every one of them are energy systems that must perform.

Most people never think about that infrastructure. Until it fails.

JBI was built by someone who understood that better than most. Working inside a major manufacturing operation, our founder Justin watched contractor after contractor turn up and treat the job like a box to be ticked. No one was invested in whether it actually solved the problem. They had no real understanding of what was at stake - or what it meant for the person next in the chain.

Justin wanted JBI to be a business that operated differently. Not just technically capable, but also commercially aware. Not just present for the job, but actually invested in the outcome. Not just solving for today, but thinking about how to position clients for what they’ll need next.

So that’s exactly how we go about it.

We work alongside the major industrial and commercial operators driving this region forward, and we design, deliver, optimise and maintain the energy systems they depend on. We help them reduce risk, reduce costs, find efficiencies and improve performance. And we make sure their systems can handle what’s coming.

We're not your average sparkies. We're highly skilled electrical technicians supporting operations where performance matters, downtime is costly, and you need someone who takes full ownership from start to finish.
OUR APPROACH

Electrical technicians who think at the business level.

When your electrical and energy systems aren’t performing as they should, the impact is felt across your whole business. Delays, downtime, inefficiencies and system limitations have a direct commercial impact. So before we recommend anything, we spend time understanding how your operation actually works, where the pressure points are, and what your systems need to perform efficiently over the long term.

That shapes everything we do - from the way we plan and design solutions, through to how we maintain and optimise your systems over time. The goal is always the same: reduce risk, reduce costs and build capacity for where your business is heading.

Our approach spans six service areas across the full project lifecycle.
We work with clients at any, or all, stages depending on their needs.

Assess & Advise

Before you commit capital, you need to know exactly what you're dealing with. We apply our technical judgement and commercial insight to show you what's possible, identify where the risks and opportunities lie, and what it means for your budget and operating reality.
  • Energy and electrical diagnostics and audits
  • Feasibility and site reviews
  • Load, demand, and capacity assessments
  • Compliance and risk review
  • Commercial/ROI advisory
  • Staged opportunity mapping

Design & Engineer

Good design solves more than the problem in front of you - it anticipates what comes next. We design electrical and energy systems that are practical to build, straightforward to approve, and ready to adapt to your long term plans.
  • Electrical system design
  • Energy & renewables design
    (solar, storage, backup)
  • Controls & automation design
  • Specification & documentation
  • Network/supply/DNSP coordination
  • Staged site energy masterplanning

Construct & Install

We manage construction and installation end-to-end, for seamless delivery: coordinating trades and workflow, and minimising the impact on your daily operations.  We ensure that what gets handed over performs exactly as it was designed to.
  • New-construction electrical
  • Site infrastructure & reticulation
    (incl. civil coordination, conduits/pits)
  • Switchboards & distribution
  • Renewables & storage installation
  • Fit-out, project management & delivery

Upgrade & Adapt

We upgrade and adapt systems to meet the changing demands of your business, working mindfully around live operations, minimising disruption, and making sure every improvement fits into the bigger picture of where you're heading.
  • Switchboard & capacity upgrades
  • Retrofits & system adaptation
  • Electrification/decarbonisation upgrades
  • Remedial & defect rectification
  • Staged infrastructure upgrades, working
    around live operations

Maintain & Support

Energy infrastructure is easy to ignore, until it fails. We keep your systems safe, compliant and running efficiently, with proactive maintenance that catches problems before they escalate. And when the unexpected happens, you can rely on us for 24/7 emergency response.

  • Monitoring & metering
  • Performance review & reporting
  • Energy optimisation & load control
  • Data-led continuous improvement
  • Upgrade roadmap
  • Embedded-network and asset-
    performance management
OUR PEOPLE

The technical expertise to handle complexity others can't.

You'll notice something different about the people who work at JBI. We're not waiting to be told what to do - we're already thinking about what comes next.

That shows up in how we work. Specialist capability, full accountability and genuine investment in getting it right. Not just at handover, but throughout.

Our structured, scalable workforce includes A-Grade Electricians, Project Managers and Estimators, Automation & Robotics Specialists, and Registered Apprentices.

We're a local team, embedded in this region and the industries that drive it. We get real satisfaction from solving problems others can't, and it shows in the work we leave behind.
REGIONS

Talk to the specialists who know this region.

We serve the North East & Central Murray regions on both sides of the border, with operations based in Wangaratta, Yarrawonga and Cobram.
Being local means more than a fast response when you need us. It means we know this region's industries, its people, and the pressures that come with running a major business here. This is our home patch, and we're invested in its success.
SAFETY

Safe practices protect quality work, and the people who rely on it.

JBI’s safety culture starts with our leadership team and carries through every person on site, because we understand what's at stake when something goes wrong in a high-consequence environment.

But beyond the checklists and regulations, safety is personal. We want everyone home safely at the end of the day.

That commitment shapes how we plan, supervise and deliver our work.

We establish clear roles, structured starts to the day, active supervision, and escalation pathways that mean issues get dealt with before they become problems for our team and for yours.

Our project management, QA, and documentation systems give you full visibility throughout delivery and a clear, compliant, audit-ready handover at the end.
CAREERS

We don’t hire your average sparky, because JBI isn’t your average electrical business.

Here, you’ll work inside the critical energy systems that keep regional industry running and growing. Diagnosing, improving, or rethinking them - not just installing or repairing. That’s why we need skilled technicians who approach their work with big-picture thinking and full accountability.

For early-career electricians, you’ll be exposed to complex, high-consequence work you won’t find in most roles, and you’ll learn alongside specialists who know this level of work deeply.

For experienced electrical technicians, it’s a chance to lead advanced technical delivery across major industrial and commercial environments, where your judgement and experience directly shape outcomes.

You'll be challenged here. But you’ll also have a team that backs you 100%. We look out for each other, share knowledge freely, and hold each other accountable for the standard of our work. We also know our people can’t do their best work when they’re running on empty, so we offer flexibility where we can. Whether you want to take on shiftwork to maximise income, or build your workday around family or lifestyle demands, both are possible here. What we ask in return is simple: care about the outcome, never stop learning, and hold yourself to the standard the work deserves.

Not every electrician gets to work at this level, and once you do you won’t look back.
